If I told you that each day I pulled $100 out of my wallet and randomly threw it out of my window, I think you’d agree that this was a pretty daft idea. After all, who on earth would willingly give away money for no reason at all.

Equally, if there was a way to take an existing website of yours and like magic start to pull far more money out if it (with very little effort), don’t you agree that you’d have to mad not to try it?

I downloaded and installed WordPress Split Tester on this blog the other day, to see for myself how easy or difficult it was to install and use.

Since it is a wordpress plugin, and if you are familiar with wordpress then it is simple to install. I have as of the release of wordpress 2.8 just go to add new plugins and upload the zip file of wpsplittester plugin and you are done.

The plugin settings are in the usual settings category and when you click on wpsplittester plugin settings you can then click on the edit button to add your ads. The simple part of the plugin is once you get to the add your ad part, all you really need to do is just copy and paste the banner ad from whatever affiliate page you will be promoting. It really is as simple as copy and paste.

Once you have added a few banners either to the top, sidebar or bottom of your page you are done and the wpsplittester plugin will do its magic in keeping track of what banner is doing the best.

Unlike a lot of banner plugin managers that give you pre determined areas to display your ad, with the wp split tester plugin you can actually define where you want to split test. This is awesome as you are then not confined to the top, sidebar or bottom of your blog. You can also split test banners vs text ads, or pretty much anything you want.

Now the one down side to all of this is sometimes with too many plugins there can be issues with the tracking. I also have the Maxblogpress Ninja Affiliate Plugin installed and finding that the tracking with the wpsplittester is getting messed up. The issue is I have too many plugins, which is a great lesson for us all.

There really isn’t any need to have a ton of plugins and if you use a good SEO’d theme like the Thesis Theme you can minimize how many plugins you use which is something I should go back and deactivate some of the plugins I have.

So, if you are looking to monetize your blog in the right way, based on what I have check out so far from the wpsplittester plugin, it is a simple install and gives you a central plugin to manage your ads and also split test them which is huge because this way you are scientifically optimizing the most money for you blog.
